This sheep is broken

She thought she was chosen

They fed her some slogans

So she pledged her devotion

She left her heart open

The dream- it was golden

But it was really a yoke and

Eventually she slowed and

Became depression in motion

But they never noticed

Concern- they never showed it

They took the Truth and sold it

Only cared for their own and

Their looks and their tone it

Destroyed all her hope and

Her heart became broken

They blame emotional explosion

But I get the notion

This system’s corroded

And moment by moment

All trust was eroded

Her part- she’s already owned it

Now she has no more home and

Her friends aren’t her own

And she’s at a crossroads

But at least her life’s no longer stolen

And suffering doesn’t mean hopeless

It says that in Romans

We also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 5:3-5
